Will Vizoso, Director of Bands and AP Music Theory
Mr. Vizoso currently serves as the Director of Bands at Harmony High School. At Harmony High School Mr. Vizoso’s responsibilities include overseeing all areas of the band program including the Advanced and Intermediate jazz bands, AP music theory, Percussion class, Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, and the "Sound of the Stampede “Marching Band. Prior to becoming the Director of Bands at Harmony High School, Mr. Vizoso taught at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Lake Brantley High School, Braden River High School, Ridge Community High School, Citrus Ridge: A Civics Academy, Parrish Community High School, and Warner University. During his time with those programs, Mr. Vizoso had bands participating in events such as the Rose Bowl, FMBC State Finals, Top 10 WGI percussion and each group consistently receiving superiors at MPA events. Mr. Vizoso has also spent time as mentor teacher in Polk County and as an adjudicator for Marching MPA and Solo and ensemble events. Mr. Vizoso received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida where he studied percussion under the direction of Jeff Moore and Kirk Gay. During his undergraduate studies, Mr. Vizoso marched for several years in Drum Corps International as a Tenor Line and front ensemble performer. He also was the Percussive Arts Society PASIC Timpani Solo Champion. Among his professional music career , Mr. Vizoso has performed in a Superbowl Halftime Performance, and was a Performing Artist at the Florida Music Festival in Orlando. Mr. Vizoso also worked as the Resident Percussionist for Glist productions performing several Off Broadway productions such as: Annie, Me & My Girl, Damn Yankees, and Phantom of the Opera at the Broward Performing Arts Center. Mr. Vizoso’s ultimate goal is for his students to make lasting memories in band and to develop a love and passion for music no matter what career path they choose. |
Maggie Josephsen, Director of Colorguard and Winterguard
Maggie Josephsen has been the guard director at Harmony High School since 2013. She created the winterguard program, which completed its 10th competition season in 2024. Ms. J is a native of St. Cloud and has also been Harmony High’s librarian since the school opened in 2004. She was honored with the FFCC Susan G. Taylor Humanitarian Award in 2023, HHS Teacher of the Year in 2019, and Osceola County Secondary Media Specialist of the Year in 2017. Ms. J considers the successes alumni achieve once they graduate from our program and pursue their dreams after high school her greatest accomplishments. |
